WARNING: I installed the 2020-01-16 release and lost the touch screen. Ran full diagnostics and all passed. Reverted back to the 2018-10-16 release and regained all functionality.
EDITED TO ADD: This appears to be a problem only for installations on Macs. Prime Users installing with Win10 report no problems.
Reverting to Firmware 20181016 or 20191120 Beta on MacOS installations returns Touch Screen functionality. |

Installing from Win7 and Win10 also sometimes results in loss of touch screen; some users report no problems, others lose touchscreen. As noted above, reverting to prior version restores touchscreen.

HP has corrected the loss of touch experienced with the 20200116 Firmware. The 20200121 Firmware appears to work without loss of capability.
Installed with a Mac 10.15.2 |

Last FW, 20200122, installed whiout errors, and the screen works at last fine throug the new capbility to change the refresh rate and now the screen with full brightness works without vibrations.
"Added ability to adjust screen refresh rate using [ON] + [SHIFT] + [+] or [-] key combo"

I have encountered an error, which perhaps detects a bug in HP PRIME G2 (hardware). For example, if I do this calculation with the virtual calculator: "exp (-10^49-10^49*i)", I rightly get zero. If, however, I perform the same operation with my HP PRIME G2 (i.e. hardware version with firmware 20200121), an error is displayed: +Inf. This error, found on the G2, is not of little importance. For example, if I want to calculate the first-kind Bessel-function, BesseJ(n, z) with Arg(z) int(exp(-(2+3*i)*sinh(t)-2.5*t),t,o,+inf) --> 0.152804387425-9.90045195322E-2*i (on virtual PRIME) int(exp(-(2+3*i)*sinh(t)-2.5*t),t,o,+inf) --> undef-undef*i (on "hardware" G2 PRIME) |

There is a bug for CAS mode. Engineering notion does not work. When I select it, it either does standard or scientific. Normal home works correctly. |

Hello all. I just bought my HP Prime G2 recently. I have a few questions. How do I update the FW? I don't have any Connectivity kit. Can it be done through USB connection? Thanks all. Some bug seen on my calculator 1. changing from radian to degree, through the upper right screen, does not dynamically change all polar in stacks.
Update: Ok. I know how to do it. |

The bug below is still present in the latest FW release :(.
1. Changing from radian to degree, through the upper right screen, does not dynamically change all the polar in stacks.
Can the FW developer help to fix this please? |

How do I apply this firmware? I have the latest connectivity kit (2023-04-13), but when I use "Update calculator" it updates it to the 2020-01-21 firmware, and I cannot find an option to select the 2023-04-13 firmware from this page.
UPDATE: SOLVED!
Install the connectivity kit, run it, close it again. Then extract the firmware ZIP file to a folder, rename the folder to "PrimeG2", and place it in Documents\HP Connectivity Kit\Firmware. Then run the connectivity kit again, and now you can apply the new firmware with "Update calculator". |

I just got the Prime in the mail. It had version 2.1.14438 or something like that from 2020/2021 so I downloaded version 2.2.15157 (2024-09-01) I updated it through HP connectivity kit. It bricked it as far as I can tell.
Brand new. I just got it in the mail. It was working. It had 75% battery. I was exploring the features for about a few minutes before I started reading the help menu and found that the software version was from 2020/2021 I downloaded HP Connectivity kit. In the connectivity kit when I click "Check for update" to update the connectivity kit it said "Could not connect to the update server "moravia-parts.com". I clicked "Update Calculator" and it said "no firmware found in ".../HP Connectivity Kit/Firmware/PrimeG2" I couldn't find an official downloads section on HP website for this calculator, but I did find the latest firmware on "hpcalc.org" I downloaded it and extracted it into the "PrimeG2" folder. It began the update. It showed the progress bar in Windows, then it went away without saying whether it successfully installed or not. The Calculator now had an all white screen and was unresponsive. If I plug the calculator into a charger or the computer, it detects power and the screen turns on Solid White. When unplugged, the screen turns off. None of the reset methods or factory restore methods work. It's completely unresponsive.
(**************UPDATE***************)
I got it working it.
I popped the battery out and put it back in and the screen immediately returned to the home page. The device now behaves as it should. And the firmware was successfully updated.
I know it wasn't just a case of "battery not inserted correctly" because when on USB without a battery the screen isn't glitched white; it appears as normal aside from the "critical battery insert battery" message.
It must've glitched during the firmware update and got hung up. All the reboot methods I found were unresponsive. (paperclip reset, CFO reset, On-Apps-Esc, On-Symb, etc)
